PERELACHAISSE

Ok so i have a penchant for morbid things...Yeah you might find it weird that i like to visit cemeteries but guess what, you won't find a more soothing place in the city. They are quiet, beautiful, romantic, inspiring and make you realize how short life is and how you can't take one moment for granted. If you go to Paris, you can't leave without a visit to Cimetiere Pere Lachaisse. I can't wait to go back. Une bise x.

  1. some of my best pictures are taken in cemetaries they have so much character. Here's some good ones from DC. http://livingembellished.blogspot.com/2009/08/usa-capitol.html

  5. Wow . . . I have to admit that I am not such a fan of cemeteries, but i did visit the one in Buenos Aires where Eva Peron is buried. Kind of looks like this one, with all of those mausoleums . . .

  6. i love cemetaries, not in a lurking emo teenage goth way but i just think they're really beautiful. i mean, wouldn't you want your deceased loved ones to rest somewhere pretty and peaceful and not creepy?

  11. I love Pere Lachaisse too. It is so magical. When I lived in Paris I lived two minutes from it. but i wouldn't go by it in the night. that would be too morbid.

  13. I totally get it. There is a beautiful little cemetery tucked literally behind a Londis shop and some rubbish containers in Jericho in Oxford. You come off of Walton Street, which around there is all 60s buildings and Indian restaurants, and enter into this amazing little world that could easily be the late 1800s. Beautiful trees, graves of old treasurers of Oxford colleges, squirrels... If you are ever there, you must go.
